Life Affirming Funerals and Memorial Ceremonies
I will support you to create a unique ceremony which captures the essence of your loved one
About Me
I’m Josh. In my working life, I’ve had the privilege of supporting interesting, inspiring and wonderful people, when working for Improving Lives mental health charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Working for Macmillan, part of my role was supporting people at the end of their lives. I felt privileged that some people were brave enough to ask me to help to plan their own funerals.
Sometimes it seems that not many things unite us, but I believe that experiencing loss is one of them. This belief guided me to train to become a Funeral Celebrant.
I’m proud to have been trained by Civil Ceremonies who have specialised in training celebrants since 2002 - and I have a Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (RQF).
I have nearly three years of experience as a Civil Funeral Celebrant. I have supported a wide range of families through a uniquely challenging time. I am here to make that journey just a little easier for you, and to make the funeral ceremony of your loved a fitting tribute to their life.
Are you considering having an “unattended funeral”?
Many funeral directors now offer a cremation or burial package which doesn’t include a funeral: this is sometimes called a direct cremation, or direct burial. In a challenging financial climate, it is becoming increasing popular as a more affordable way to say farewell to your loved one.
An unattended funeral can present its own challenges however: how do you, and your loved one’s family and friends, honour the life they have lived? How do you say goodbye in that way that is meaningful, while being among the people they were closest to?
A direct cremation doesn’t mean you can’t say goodbye in the way you wish - I can help.
I can support you to plan and deliver a unique memorial ceremony for your loved one: whilst remaining much more affordable than a traditional funeral. Find out more below:
